With a strong commitment to his community, Randy is a recipient of the Iowa Parks and Recreation Layperson of the Year award for his outstanding efforts as president and founder of the Indianola Youth Softball program and founder of Mid-Iowa Girl's Softball Association. Randy has served as a volunteer youth coach in a variety of sports for over 13 years.

Randy's other activities include being president of Arrowhead Chapter of Ducks Unlimited and taking a leadership role in the United Way Campaign. A graduate of the Warren County Leadership Institute, Randy also has been a volunteer for Junior Achievement.
